It is my goal to work with you to have beautiful pictures, but also to enjoy the session. This shouldn't be a stressful event, as that energy will be evident in the pictures. Relax, be yourself, and be confidant in the knowledge that if it turns out to just not be a good day because of the weather, or a teething child, or any other unexpected life event, we can work together to rearrange, or even reschedule the session for a better time. I want you to feel at ease during the session so that the end product is one that you will be happy with.
I'm ready to book a photo session, what's next?
Contact me to discuss your needs and talk about how to curate your vision, ask questions, figure out the details. Meeting in person is best, but we can do this over the phone or private message as well. We will set a date, I will send you a photography contract and a deposit will be required to book the session.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
A deposit is required to hold your session date. 50% of the deposit is due when the session is booked. For weddings only, 25% of the deposit is non-refundable.
What is basic editing?
I do very minimal touch ups like cropping, exposure and white balance, perhaps some sharpening and noise reduction. Sometimes I add an overlay or filter or make a photo black and white depending on the style that the client requests. But in general, my photo style is not overly edited.
What should I wear?
In general, wear something that is comfortable and makes you feel great. For headshots I would suggest something that is more streamlined and neutral over a distracting print.
How quickly will I get my photos?
It generally takes about 7-10 days depending on the type of session. See the 'rates' section about pricing for expedited services.
How will you send me the photos?
I post some sneak peeks via my Facebook and/or Instagram page for foto lumiere, and then provide you with an online gallery in which your photos can be downloaded and prints ordered.
How do I pay?
I accept cash, check, payment through Venmo, and PayPal, and accept credit cards through Stripe.
